Psychology is the study of the mind and behavior but the main problems facing the world today are caused by people, their thinking and their behavior. The reason why we are the problem or we aren’t letting psychology do its thing to which is to change the world, is because we settle for less. Knowing that psychology can play a central role in fighting to solve the issues of crime in our cities, litter on our streets, pollution in our atmosphere, obesity with the children and ultimately, oppression and/or injustice in our world, we still think there is no solution to the problems. Health care providers and organizations involved with trafficked persons should increase their capacity to identify and refer people in trafficking situations. Empirical research on human trafficking is limited. The importance of psychology is to admit when you’re wrong and to create theories. Programes working with perpetrators need to make them admit responsibility and to be publicly seen as responsible for their actions.
